Bloomsday Celebration
06/16/2012 10:00 am
Saturday, June 16, beginning at 10 a.m.
Grass Roots Books & Music
227 SW 2nd Street, Corvallis
Join us for a reading of Ulysses by James Joyce, one of the greatest novels of the 20th century.
Bloomsday commemorates Joyce’s life and work annually on June 16. It was on that date in 1904 that Joyce first strolled the streets of Dublin with his future wife Nora Barnacle, and is also the date in which he chronicles Leopold Bloom’s journey through those same streets in Ulysses. Grass Roots will join the celebration this year by hosting a reading of Ulysses by members of our community. Anyone who has read and loves the book may volunteer to stop by and read a chapter. If you haven’t read the book, feel free to stop by and listen! For more information, please contact Rich Daniels: rdaniels@peak.org.
